You are probably now thinking "OK, lets get to the cribbing already ..." so here goes :
The medical system here is all but primitive. I am not talking about the technology or their know how or their capabilities mind you. I am sure they are very good at what they do, when they do get around to doing it.
I am a student here, and of course I have to pay for medical insurance that is 'supposed' to cover me for the duration I have already paid for. You realize there is a catch as soon as the summer term starts. I did not enroll in any classes, and as far as the university is concerned I am not their student anymore. And, so am not eligible for any medical attention even though I paid for the insurance for summer. And yes, that bugged me to no end.
Fine, I said and paid for summer coverage again. I have been having issues with my head lately. Feel free to assume what you may... So I go to get it checked, and guess what the brilliant doctor sends me to a cardiologist. There goes some more of my money. My heart is beating just fine, in case any of you were wondering. Worst part, $100 later, I still don't know what is wrong. These docs here are way too careful, and nothing really comes out of it in the end.
Back home, I would have got the attention I needed right away, and would not have had to wait 2 months for an appointment. I mean I would get medical attention when I still needed it, not long after it was gone and I even forgot I wanted an appointment. The docs back home understand exactly what you need, and they give you just that. The whole feel good factor about being helped is missing in the medical system in this country.
It's just my tough luck that i stayed hale and hearty thru my fall and spring semesters when I was actually a student, and some stuff went kaput just when I was not eligible for the insurance I had already paid for. But as you have it, I found another topic to crib and rant about.
